Last month, we teamed up with Imperial College’s Afro-Caribbean Society (ACS) to host mock MMI (Multiple Mini Interview) sessions for aspiring medical students. It was incredible to see so many talented and determined students preparing to take their first steps into medicine!
Interviews can be daunting, but preparation makes all the difference. Our mock MMI stations gave students a chance to practice under realistic conditions, get feedback, and build confidence for the real thing.
For those still preparing, below are some key interview tips to keep in mind:
💡 Top Tips for MMI Success
✅ Understand the Format – MMIs are designed to test a range of skills, from communication to problem-solving. Know what types of stations you might face (role plays, ethical dilemmas, data interpretation, etc.).
✅ Think Aloud – Even if you don’t know the perfect answer, show your reasoning process. Interviewers want to see how you think, not just what you think.
✅ Be Yourself – Your personality and motivation for medicine matter. Stay authentic, engage with the interviewer, and show enthusiasm for your future career.
✅ Practice Under Time Pressure – MMIs are fast-paced, so get used to answering questions clearly and concisely in a short time frame.
✅ Stay Calm and Adaptable – If a question throws you off, take a deep breath and break it down logically. Resilience is a key trait in medicine!
To all future medics interviewing this season—good luck! Believe in yourself, trust your preparation, and let your passion for medicine shine through. ✨
